Attempts by attorneys general to probe companies such as Exxon Mobil and advocacy groups such as the Competitive Enterprise Institute for their work on climate change are a dangerous attempt to stifle free speech, participants said at Heritage Foundation discussion June 10. "The criminalization of views is something we consider very seriously in Texas," state Attorney General Ken Paxton, who has come to Exxon's defense in the probes, said at the forum.
