摘要

Water quality in the Chesapeake Bay and its tidal waters improved somewhat during the past two years, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation said in its 2014 State of the Bay report. Between 2012 and 2014, the bay's overall water quality has continued to improve, despite the growing population in the 64,000 square-mile watershed, the biennial report said. However, the improvement in water quality was offset somewhat by indications that populations of blue crabs and rockfish are not doing doing well. "The declines in these metrics and in the phosphorus indicator offset the improvements in water quality," the report said.
