Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) plans to file a motion Nov. 2 to move a bill that would require a rewrite of a rule intended to clarify Clean Water Act jurisdiction over the nation's waters and wetlands, the office of Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) confirmed. "The Senate has the opportunity now to take up the Federal Water Quality Protection Act, a strong bipartisan bill that will direct the Environmental Protection Agency to write a reasonable rule to protect our navigable waterways," Barrasso said in a Oct. 29 statement about the bill (S. 1140) he co-sponsored with Sen. Joe Donnelly (D-Ind.).
