No greenhouse gas emissions analysis is required for the Ohio Rivers Bridges Project linking Louisville, Ky., and southeastern Indiana, a federal appeals court ruled Aug. 7 (Coal, for Advancement of Reg'l Transp. v. FHWA, 2014 BL 220340, 6th Cir., No. 13-6214,8/7/14). The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit upheld a district court's dismissal of claims that the $2.3 billion project, developed by the Federal Highway Administration and the two states, violates the National Environmental Policy Act.
