摘要

A ballot initiative passed by Alaska voters sets up a new regulatory hurdle for any large-scale metals mine planned for the Bristol Bay region, but that will not stop the Pebble copper and gold project, the head of the company developing the mine said Nov. 6. "It's a great prospect. It's a great state asset. And someday it's going to be developed," John Shively, chairman of the board at the Pebble Partnership, said in a speech at the Alaska Miners Association annual convention in Anchorage.
