The Boulder County Commission voted to extend by three years the county's moratorium on new oil and gas drilling permits, citing health, safety and environmental concerns. Specifically, commissioners voted Nov. 13 to extend to July 1, 2018, a temporary moratorium on processing applications for oil and gas development in the unincorporated parts of the county. The moratorium was set to expire Jan. 1, 2015.
