Pennsylvania's state regulatory review agency has given final approval to a rule aimed at enabling emergency responders to find even the most remote rural oil and gas well sites quickly in the event of an accident. The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) and the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) developed the regulation with assistance from the Marcellus Shale Coalition, industry emergency response specialists, and local government representatives to comply with legislation enacted by the state in 2012.
