A federal appeals court has rejected a citizen group's attempt to block construction of a highway bridge in Martin County, finding that state and federal agencies conducted adequate assessments of the project's environmental impacts (Citizens for Smart Growth v. DOT, 11th Cir., No. 11-11056, 2/6/12).In a unanimous opinion Feb. 6, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit affirmed the summary judgment granted to the government in April 2010 by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida when it decided not to enjoin construction of the Indian Street Bridge connecting the cities of Stuart and Palm City.
