The New York State Legislature is considering a number of bills to limit hydraulic fracturing in natural gas drilling, just as the state Department of Environmental Conservation is poised to complete a regulatory process begun in 2009 to control the practice.More than two dozen bills on hydraulic fracturing, also known as fracking, have been introduced in the current legislative session, ranging from measures to completely ban fracking to those that would limit and control it. Three bills stand a good chance of passing at least one house of the Legislature, according to sources interviewed by Bloomberg BNA.
