Denver-The U.S. Department of Agriculture has adopted a final, state-specific rule providing protections for 4.2 million acres of roadless areas in national forestlands in Colorado, according to a notice being published July 3. The final rule and record of decision address issues specific to Colorado and include greater protections for some lands than would be afforded under the federal 2001 Roadless Area Conservation Rule.
