LANSING, Mich.-Three former officials of an oil-reclamation company have been sentenced for dumping untreated wastewater and stormwater into the Indianapolis sewer system (United States v. Biggio, S.D. Ind., No. l:10-cr-00163-001, 4/4/11; United States v. Milem, S.D. Ind., No. l:10-cr-31-01, 4/4/11; United States v. Snow, S.D. Ind., No. l:10-cr-32-01, 4/4/11). In sentencing April 4, Joseph Biggio, former operations manager and executive vice president of Ecological Systems Inc., located in Indianapolis, received three years' probation and was fined $15,000 after pleading guilty to two counts of Clean Water Act criminal violations and one violation of the federal false statements statute, the Environmental Protection Agency said in a statement.
