President Obama launched a program April 1 to help large companies incorporate more clean vehicles into their transportation fleets as part of a recently announced White House initiative to reduce the amount of imported oil by one-third by 2025. The National Clean Fleets Partnership aims to reduce diesel and gasoline consumption by helping companies to add electric vehicles, expand alternative fuel use, and institute fuel-saving measures through a public-private partnership involving the Energy Department's Vehicle Technology Program.
