A coalition of agriculture and industry associations is urging the Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to halt their plan to propose guidance addressing which water bodies are subject to federal jurisdiction under the Clean Water Act. "We are very concerned by the apparent intent to issue a guidance document on this important issue and strongly urge you to withdraw the proposed 'guidance,' " the Waters Advocacy Coalition wrote April 4 in a letter to EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson and Jo-Ellen Darcv, assistant secretary of the Army for civil works.
