The Energy Department will invest $41 million in 16 projects to help develop energy- and cost-efficient technologies for capturing carbon dioxide from coal-fired power plants, the department said Aug. 25. The investment will aid the development of post-combustion carbon capture technologies that are less costly and more effective than current systems, facilitating widespread use, the department said.
