Current climate engineering technologies do not provide a viable response to global climate change and could have negative consequences, the Government Accountability Office said in a new report. Technologies designed to reduce or manage the risks from climate change, such as carbon dioxide removal and solar radiation management, are immature and not ready for full-fledged production, said the report, released Aug. 25.
