The Commonwealth of Virginia is terminating its membership in the Governors' Wind Energy Coalition after the organization sent a letter to congressional leaders calling for a national renewable energyrnstandard, according to a March 29 letter Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell (R) sent to the organization.rn"Because I am not in complete agreement with the recommendations made by this letter, I am extremely disappointed that it was sent without my approval, even though it included my name, as the Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, implying that Virginia endorsed the contents of the letter," McDonnell wrote.
