A federal judge has ruled that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers violated the National Environmental Policy Act and the Clean Water Act when it issued a permit to fill wetlands at a retail, office, and housing project in Florida without producing an environmental impact statement or considering alternatives (Sierra Club v. Van Antwerp, D.D.C., No. 07-1756, 6/30/10.rnJudge Royce C. Lamberth of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia remanded the permit June 30 to the Corps of Engineers with instructions to "file supplemental submissions addressing the exact parameters of appropriate relief."
