The Iowa League of Cities is suing the Environmental Protection Agency to force it to review its interpretation of Clean Water Act rules and policies governing how wastewater treatment plants handle wet weather-policies designed to prevent sewer overflows during heavy rains (Iowa League of Cities v. EPA, 8th Cir., No. 10-2646, 7/26/10).rnIn a petition for review filed July 26 in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, the league said it is seeking review of EPA. final rules, regulatory determinations, and reviewable final actions in several areas under the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System program.
