Environmental Protection Agency officials are targeting Aug. 13 for release of a draft guidance manual outlining the steps of assessment and corrective action that will be central elements of a revised rule to protect drinking water from microbial contamination.rnAt a meeting Aug. 3 at EPA headquarters, officials of the agency's Office of Ground Water and Drinking Water cautioned that the date was not fixed, but the guidance should be made available for public comment in the second week of August and will be the first of several new or revised guidance documents that will accompany the revised rule.
