The Obama administration, going beyond simple withdrawal of a Bush administration rule on endangered species consultations, will seek public comment on possible steps to improve the way federal agencies consult with biologists on species.rnThe Fish and Wildlife Service and NOAA Fisheries Service published a final rule May 4 withdrawing the contested Dec. 16, 2008, rule that the Bush administration issued to ease the consulting obligations (74 Fed. Reg. 20,421).rnRevocation of the Dec. 16 rule will be effective with publication of the new notice.
