Two Senate Democrats urged Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Stephen Johnson Oct. 24 to withdraw a proposal that would limit how strictly new source review provisions would be applied at power plants.rnSens. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.), chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, and Tom Carper (D-Del.), chairman of the Subcommittee on Clean Air and Nuclear Safety, argued in a letter to Johnson that the proposal "would result in substantially higher emissions of dangerous air pollutants, undermining the Clean Air Act's public health and environmental protections."
