International Perspectives on Natural Disasters: Occurrence, Mitigation and Consequences is part of a series (Vol. 21) from Kluwer Academic Publishers titled Advances in Natural and Technological Hazards Research. Stoltman, Lidstone and DeChano (eds) have brought together an impressive group of 28 natural disaster experts from around the world. International Perspectives on Natural Disasters is divided into three parts. The first seven chapters, in turn, present an overview of the geographical and geological processes generating earthquakes, volcanoes, windstorms, global flooding, wildfires, mass movement and drought, including information on distributions and significant disaster events.
