Implementation of management systems is on the rise. Most readers are familiar with the international standards for quality management (ISO 9001), environmental management (ISO 14001) andrnhealth and safety management (OHSAS 18001).rnMore recently, there has been a movement to develop management systems for security and business continuity management, such as SI 24001, which was developed by the Standards Institution of Israel (see Grosskopf et al, 2007). Currently, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is in the process of developing a standard for risk management systems (ISO 31000), which is slated for publication in mid-2009. These standards are expected to be followed soon by management systems that address sustainability.
