The results of our study suggest that using CNG as a vehicle fuel can significantly improve air quality. Although some air pollutant levels at our study site in Mumbai still exceed applicable limits set by India's Central Pollution Control Board, they have decreased substantially in comparison to baseline years, before a significant number of vehicles in the city converted to CNG.
