Nanotechnology promises exciting new ideas, from space elevators tethered to earth by nanotubes to heat conduction and energy storage in nano-sized spaces. The potential revolution also brings likely perils, and some voices are spreading the word of caution. One of these people is Andrew Maynard, the chief scientist of the Project on Emerging Nanotechnologies at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars.
