You have heard of that expression, 'Give me that old time religion'? Well, my reaction to Thompson (2012) is, 'Give me that old time ethics.' Yes, as Thompson fully demonstrates, great strides have recently been made in the biological sciences. But, contrary to that author, I maintain that none of them call for any new ethics. The old ones will do just fine, even in the face of these modern accomplishments. What is the old time ethics? In my view, they consist of libertarianism, the philosophy predicated upon the non aggression principle (NAP). This maintains that the only illicit actions are those that violate the personal and property rights of individuals.
