摘要

This ambitious work attempts to describe "how law and ethics apply to the people and institutions in the Art World". It raises challenging questions from "who owns the past" to whether artists should be afforded tax breaks. This is done by judicious choice and quotation of key cases and articles, interspersed by comment or questions from the authors. Although the extracts are well chosen and edited, the book's format is dense and it would benefit from clearer layout and better differentiation, perhaps by use of different fonts between quoted cases, articles and the authors' own opinions. While the work is aimed at students in the United States, it has plenty to interest the European legal practitioner.
