摘要

The paper deals with the application of an adaptive control algorithm to an experimental platform composed of two rotors attached to a mechanical arm having three degree of freedom. The adaptive control algorithm is based on passivity and has been proposed in the past by the first author. This technique assumes that the plant is minimum phase and consists of selecting a state feedback control law which renders the closed-loop transfer function strictly positive real. The experimental performance of the a'daptive control algorithm is compared with respect to a linear time invariant (LTI) controller having the same structure of the adaptive control scheme but with constant parameters. It is shown that the settling time of the adaptive scheme is smaller than that of the LTI controller.
