摘要

Variable flame length gas burners use the variation of air and/or gas swirl intensity to control the location of the peak heat flux transferred to the load in industrial furnaces. Experimental investigations are carried out on a 300 kW burner to study the influence of swirl intensity of the air inlet on flame length tunability, heat relatse profile and NO_x emissions. In a confined, highly insulated experimental furnace, the radiative heat flux profiles exhibit weak peaks with a maximal Flame length variation of a factor 2. No significant effect of flame length variations on Nox emissions has been ob- Served during the tests.
