摘要

Since several years the Applied Mechanics laboratory of the Royal Military Academy is involved in research projects related to environmental problems. Two facilities have been built. With a subsonic facility industrial gases can be simulated and the performance of particle removal systems can be evaluated. The other facility is a supersonic steam tunnel being used for research in waste heat recovery. The laboratory of Applied Mechanics also owns a powerful vibration installation with a shaker RMS 18 kN, sinus/random controllers and various software packages for modal analysis like ENTEK, Ansys or SAMCEF. Figure 1 illustrates the vibration installation used for experimental modal analysis of the fixture designed for the testing of the lubrication - group GE 90 (on request of an industrial contractor, i.e. Techspace Aero) The laboratory of Strenght of Materials of the RMA has also been active for many years in the field of explosion effects on structures and was intensively involved in several testing programs for different contractors of the ARIANE 5 launcher.
