Following an appeal by Canada and Norway, the EU also lodged an appeal, on 29 January, over a report by the World Trade Organisation concerning its ban on seal products. This report partially validates the embargo imposed by the EU on imports of seal products to its territory. By appealing, the EU hopes to improve the parts of the report that it finds unsatisfactory, particularly those concerning an exception for hunting by indigenous communities.
