When it comes to choosing an enterprise application, narrowing down the core features and characteristics that will mean the most for your company can be a difficult task. When the application in question is something as big and amorphous as SOA (service-oriented architecture), the job gets even tougher. That's because it can often be difficult simply to decide what an SOA solution is. Is it a set of development tools? An enterprise service architecture? Back-end messaging and bus systems? Service management applications? Or a combination of some or all of the above?
