In our laboratory, internal inspections by the animal experiment welfare committee are performed to check whether breeding and experiments of animals are performed according to the SOPs considering animal welfare. Workshops to understand the contents of SOPs are held in each research section and works for revision of incomplete SOPs are performed by technologists themselves. Succession of techniques is very important for us as technologists. In our laboratory, a technical instructor was nominated by the facility manager, and an internal authorization system for quality in each technical area such as necropsy, surgery, administration and maintenance of strains has started, with standards in each area. All staffs were obliged for training of necropsy. At the beginning, feeding and watering to the animals for necropsy were sometimes omitted. The committee indicated these cases as a problem in view of experimental animal welfare and educated to improve the situation. Further understanding of the staffs on experimental animal welfare was achieved by participating to a series of works up to necropsy.
