Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) took delivery of its largest ship to date, the 164,600 gt Norwegian Escape, in Bremer- haven, Germany, on 22 October. Built by Meyer Werft in just 17 months, it is the first vessel in NCL's Breakaway Plus class, which the company says will offer passengers "a premium experience from bow to stern". After Norwegian Escape's inaugural European festivities, it continued to its home port of Miami, where hip-hop artiste Pitbull became the first 'godfather' to a cruise ship in a ceremony on 9 November.
