Leaving aside bulk cargoes, dry cargo now comes in all shapes and sizes but is mostly small enough to be handled by relatively light ships'gear or packed into containers that are loaded by shore cranes. There have always been some pieces of cargo that were out of the ordinary, either in terms of weight or sheer size.
