Singapore's Keppel Shipyard has won a contract to convert a Moss LNG carrier into an FLNG vessel for Golar LNG. It will be Golar LNG's first such vessel, will have a capacity of up to 2M tonnes/year and will store 125,000m~3 of LNG. The agreement includes an option for two similar conversions at the yard. Detailed design and engineering on the FLNG vessel is expected to conclude by about mid-2013, when the conversion is expected to start. It will be developed in several construction stages to accommodate customer requirements and is expected to be completed by 1Q15.
