摘要

An outstanding new generation of Chinese-built supramax carriers made its debut in early 2012 under the trading control of Paris-based industrial bulk shipping specialist Setaf-Saget. Developed by the Sinopaciflc Shipbuilding Group in co-operation with Setaf-Saget's technical arm, STCO, the Crown 63 design took first form in the February 2012 commissioning of the 63,500dwt JS Amazon from Sinopacific's Yangzhou Dayang yard. The vessel displays the first Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) certificate awarded by Bureau Veritas and is attributed with a greenhouse gas emissions performance measurement of 20% better than the Marpol Annex VI minimum standard. The deadweight equates to the maximum achievable within the Common Structural Rules and represents a 5.2% cargo capacity gain over other modern bulkers of comparable size.
