A newfy built education and training centre dedicated to international shipping and shipbuilding professionals was opened at the end of February by the Korean Register of Shipping (KR). The four-storey, 5,500m2 facility houses 13 lecture halls and seminar rooms and is also equipped with research facilities. It is designed to train around 100 students and is located within the grounds of the KR's new headquarters. "KR is now fully ready to contribute to the development and growth of the maritime industry," said Oh Kong-gyun, chairman and chief executive officer of KR. "The opening of this new facility cements our commitment to ongoing training and emphasises the importance we place on continuous education."
