Continuing an association with Singapore-based but Saudi-owned Samco that began in 2003, Hyundai Samho delivered Samco Amazon as the operator's seventh VLCC from the yard in August. Delivery of the vessel was followed two moths later by sister vessel Samco Redwood, leaving two more of the four-ship order for delivery in 2012. The four new vessels and the other six Hyundai Samho-built ships in Samco's fleet are all variants of an earlier design, but although the new vessels come with a slightly lower deadweight they also incorporate several new fuel-saving technologies.
