UK P&t Club's recent bulletin includes expert advice from Cambridge Refrigeration Technology (CRT) on the safest way of handling suspect reefer units. It assessed the cause of the problem as being the introduction of a counterfeit refrigerant into the boxes' refrigeration system. Solutions contacted CRT, which requested some minor amendments to be made to the advice given by the club. To prevent further incidents, CRT recommended that refrigerant gas supplied to service depots be obtained from a certified source able to provide a certificate that verifies the contents.
