Force technology in denmark, developer of the onboard performance enhancement tools SeaTrim, SeaPlanner and SeaTrend, says its suite of programs is now being widely used by a number of leading ship owners and operators. It has developed a new tool, SeaAssessor, which can provide a lifetime assessment of the fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions of potential designs.rnResistance and a ship's trim are closely connected to one another. When a ship has the right trim, resistance is minimal and, as a result, so too is fuel consumption. This also means that emissions are reduced to a minimum, but in practice vessels rarely sail at exactly the right trim to achieve this. The aim of SeaTrim, therefore, was to develop a tool that could be used to provide the crew of a vessel with advice about how to trim the ship according to the prevailing conditions.
