Bunkering may be commonplace, but it should never engender complacency, for there can be serious consequences if the fuel is not of the required quality. The August-October 2010 issue of GARD News, the magazine of Norway's GARD P&I club, includes a case that shows why it is important to take samples of bunkers and test them in good time.
