Hazardous materials are the subject of an inspection campaign by members of the Tokyo MoU on port state control between 1 September and 30 November 2010. Tokyo MoU member states will inspect as many ships as possible in conjunction with routine port state control inspections. PSC officers will first decide if there are any hazardous substances or marine pollutants carried in packaged form as described in accordance with MARPOL Annex III, SOLAS Chapter VII and the IMDG Code.
