Controllable-pitch propellers (CPPs) are to be the main product of a new venture between Wartsila and Zhenjiang CME, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC). Manufacture of CPPs at the Wartsila CME Zhenjiang Propeller factory in Jiangsu province is planned for second quarter 2011. Wartsila CME Zhenjiang Propeller will invest €12M ($16.5M) in a facility for manufacturing CP propellers. The investment includes the construction of a new 8,000m~2factory at the same location as the existing factory producing fixed- pitch propellers.
