Among the smaller shipbuilding countries in Asia, such as Indonesia and Malaysia, it is not surprising that major products are miscellaneous craft such as tugs, workboats and small ferries. These types of vessel make up well over half of the 200 or so ships that those two countries produce annually.rnPSVsand other offshore vesselsalso feature strongly in both countries, while Indonesia has a recent history of building handymax bulkers and some other reasonably sized commercial cargo ships including cement carriers, product tankers and deck cargo vessels. In fact, cargo vessels are beginning to take a more prominent place in Indonesia's orderbook, which notably includes eight S0,000dwt bulkers, a pair of 18,500dwt general cargo ships, two livestock carriers and 13 product/chemical tankers. These figures represent a near doubling of such orders compared with the period from 2006 until now.
