Norway's maritime sector is looking to extend the application of LNG as a shipboard fuel through a research project tasked with developing LNG propulsion concepts for shortsea ro-ro freight vessels and ro-pax ferries. The study is led by research institute Marintek in conjunction with ship operators Seatrans and Color Line, and its remit includes consideration of the commercial viability of the envisaged designs.
