Inmarsat has made its first acquisition since becoming a private limited company in April 1999. The company has bought into EAE Ltd, a subsidiary of the EAE Group that provides integrated telecommunication systems and services, including satellite systems, radio systems and very small aperture terminal (VSAT) satellite solutions to the oil and gas, maritime, government and emergency services markets. The Aberdeen-based business will trade as INVSAT Ltd, a subsidiary of Inmarsat Holdings Ltd.
