摘要

Connectivity and being connected all the time is something that many of us take for granted. We are routinely annoyed by any interruption to what we consider normal service. You are probably familiar with the grumpy bristle of plane passengers being told to put their devices into flight mode, and the palpable relief of screen-fixed underground passengers when a wi-fi connection is re-established. Nevermind our frustration when exorbitant roaming costs or geography-those gritted teeth 'I will walk to the top of the hill and just check for a signal' moments - get in the way of our data connections. But putting the lament of a shore-based professional aside, being connected is not just about convenience. It governs our economic prosperity. There is a fundamental difference between residing in connected and unconnected environments.
