Hard times call for hard truths; for shipping these can be uncomfortable. One such truth came from Finland's former prime minister Alexander Stubb in his address to the European Shipping Week conference. He said, "If you think Brexit and Trump are a reaction to globalisation and the loss of jobs, you ain't seen nothing yet. Digitalisation and robotisation will revolutionise economies - 50% of traditional jobs will vanish in the next 15 years.... What happens when you can print your own sneakers?"
