1. A wave of mergers and acquisitions among the 13 members of the International Group of P&l Clubs (IG) would be negative for shipowners, delegates of last month's Houston Marine Insurance Seminar were told. Joe Hughes, chairman and CEO of the American P&l Club, warned that if the P&l sector sees a round of mergers, it would be a case of "no way back. It would be a cautionary Humpty Dumpty tale. If it was to break up, it would be very hard to put it back together again."
